Mr. Moray Rumney joined HP/Agilent Technologies in 1984 after completing his B.Sc. in Electronics from Edinburgh’s Heriot-Watt University. Moray has enjoyed a varied career path spanning manufacturing engineering, product development, applications engineering, and more recently, standards development, product planning and technical marketing. Moray’s main focus has been around the development and system design of base station emulators used in the development and testing of cellular phones. Moray joined ETSI in 1991 and 3GPP in 1999, where he was a significant contributor to the development of type approval tests for GSM and UMTS and more recently LTE and LTE-Advanced. His current work in standards is around the development of radiated “over-the-air” test methods for MIMO handsets. He has published many technical articles in the field of cellular communications and is a regular speaker and chair at industry conferences. He was technical editor and major contributing author for Agilent’s book “LTE and the Evolution to 4G Wireless” which was published in its second edition in 2013.
