Hyoil Kim received his PhD degree in 2010 from Electrical Engineering: Systems, the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He was a postdoctoral researcher in the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center, Hawthorne, New York, in 2010–2011. In 2011, he joined the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, UNIST, where he became an associate professor in 2015. His research interests include cognitive radios, mobile cloud, next-generation WLAN, 5G/6G communications, Hyperloop communications, etc. He is an area editor of the Computer Networks (ComNet), and an editor of the Journal of Communications and Networks (JCN) and IEEE Transactions on Cognitive Communications and Networking (TCCN), respectively. He is a Senior member of the IEEE.
