Mr. Glenn D. Colby leads L-3’s dual-use initiatives in telecom, wireless, satellite, aviation and related commercial communications markets. His innovative approach to commercial market entry, successful partnerships across multiple industries, and new market contract wins have been recognized with multiple awards, including L-3’s 2013 Presidential Achievement Award. Prior to joining L-3, Mr. Colby led research, development, and testing of advanced Naval aircraft and associated technologies for over 27 years at the Naval Air Systems Command. As Chief Architect for the X-47B Navy Unmanned Combat Air System - winner of the 2013 Robert J. Collier Trophy - he led the Aviation/Ship Integration team from 2003 to 2011. Before joining Navy UCAS, he was Chief Engineer for the Navy’s Joint Precision Approach and Landing System (JPALS) program, receiving the Defense Standardization Award in 2002. His experience includes negotiating aviation treaties at the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), head of NATO delegation duties, numerous technical papers in aviation, navigation and wireless, and contributions to multiple international standards. He received his B.S. with Honors in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Virginia in 1984, and graduated from the U.S. Naval Test Pilot School in 1987.
