Fujio Watanabe

Fujio Watanabe is a director of the Mobile Network Technology Group focusing on Beyond 5G architecture. His team works for a small cell called “Phantom Cell Architecture” as well as Massive MIMO toward 3GPP NR Standardization. He is also leading a data analysis team focusing on LTE network optimization, real-time streaming data, and business service. From April 2018, he has been a delegate from NTT DOCOMO at AI/Applied Machine Learning Project, Telecom Infra Project (TIP). He has an extensive background in IEEE802.11 WLAN  and IEEE802.16 WiMAX standardization.

Fujio holds B.E., M.E., and Ph.D. from the University of Electro-Communications, Tokyo, Japan.
