Alka is an innovator and creative problem-solver with experience driving products and services in consumer and enterprise segments across Cloud, Mobile, Core Infrastructure, Transport, Policy, Voice Biometrics, Security, Conversational UI and Contact Center Technologies. She led the design and implementation of AT&T’s internal Cloud storage & API based architecture, AT&T Locker, Social Networking Gateway and Contact Services on a large-scale distributed environment and launched 60+ services and applications including Differential Billing, Mobile Video, Address Book Cloud, IVRs, and AT&T Music to grow AT&T’s service portfolio.

As a strategist, she served as lead advisor to CTO/COO on Wireless Core Networking, MPLS/IP Transport, SIP standards, rich communication and real-time services for GSM/3G/LTE and started 5G core planning at Cingular Wireless & AT&T. She led numerous strategic technology initiatives and published position papers for areas such as video streaming and video delivery, designed the Policy and Security framework for AT&T and holds several patents for security gateway and data policy management.

Alka has an Electrical Engineering/Computer Science degree from the University of Notre Dame and an MFA in creative writing from Bennington College. She has advised several non-profits and startups on market and growth strategy and is passionate about mentoring and coaching. She is also a writer and artist and served as the Artistic Director of an art collective which led her to take on designing a social platform for multi-media artists.
